Billy Moffle's Straight Lines -  a children's picture book story about early trauma and healing in a new home.

Moffles are tiny, fluffy creatures, who carry the colours of their emotions in their fur, for all the world to read like a story book.
 

• To help children who have suffered from early trauma

• Focusing on an experience of witnessing domestic abuse

• Relates to healing in a new home

• Empathically names the challenges faced by his birth mummy and how these influence her parenting

• Aims to help children identify with the characters and find their own meaning in the story to help them understand themselves better and see themselves differently-

• Reminds carers and parents of why even difficult or puzzling behaviour makes sense in the context of their child’s troubled past.

Billy Moffle is very young but already he has become so scared and hurt that he has turned blue and grey. If he just keeps everything straight and tidy, maybe he won’t feel so frightened.

Can a new mummy and daddy help him to feel safe again?

The Moffles have been created by author and therapist Mikenda Plant.

Mikenda has worked for 25 years with children in care and adopted children their families and the professionals who support them.
